The beginning of a new year is a great time to take stock and, it’s not too late to create a plan and make commitments for the coming year!
So what are your Online Business New Year Resolutions?
According to Statistic Brain, among the 45% of Americans who usually make New Year’s resolutions, among the top 10 things resolutions were:
- get organized
- spend less save more
- enjoy life to the fullest
- learn something exciting
- help others in their dreams and
- spend more time with family.
If these stats were from Online Business Owners, I have no doubt the list would be similar if not the same!
Here are 5 things to add to your list of Online Business New Year Resolutions that could help you rip it in 2016!
- Identify your financial goals.
Knowing what the end goal for your business is will help you define how and what you should be doing in your business. I use the “Making Ish Happen” planner to help me work through this process.
- Create Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for your business.
Knowing the process you should undertake for most if not all of the scenarios that might arise in your business will save time and cut anxiety and stress! For example: what happens if you have to take a sick day or have an emergency? Your SOP should spell it out and it might include having email templates you can easily dispatch to clients or, a contact who also has said templates that they can dispatch on your behalf.
- Trim “dead weight” from your business.
A review of recurring expenses to determine if there is value in retaining or something you can live without. In addition to the tangible, you should take stock of how you are spending time and make adjustments where time does not equal income!
- Invest in personal development.
With the ever-changing nature of operating an online business, staying current and relevant will translate into profit! Acknowledge where you are lacking and include time for self-development in your plan. This can take the form or attending webinars, completing courses or reading helpful books. (I compiled a step-by-step guide for creating a successful online business that you might want to check out).
- Add at least one new or revised product.
If you offer digital products like webinars, templates, e-courses etc. search for opportunities within existing products for upgrades, tweaks etc. and/or create new products that reflect changes in your niche. In addition to attracting new customers/prospects, you want to make sure you are giving current customers something to smile about!
